Shiroishi Castle in Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture Japan, was once a castle where Sengoku warlord General Kojuro Katakura, who became an apprentice to Masamune Date.
The current castle tower and gate were restored in 1995, but have been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Castles.
In the spring, Masuoka Park, where Shiroishi Castle is located, is home to about 300 cherry blossoms, mainly Yoshino cherry trees, and is crowded with a large number of visitors.
During the period when the cherry blossoms bloom, the Shiraishi Castle Cherry Blossom Festival is also held, and the night is lit up, so you can enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms from morning to night.
