SENDAI Matsushima Rikyu Pageant of Starlight 2020
The Christmas Lights event 2020 SENDAI Matsushima Rikyu Pageant of Starlight was held for the first time at Matsushima Rikyu in Matsushima Town, Miyagi Prefecture Japan.
The complex commercial facility “Matsushima Rikyu, Miyagi Prefecture,” which was under construction on the site of the Marinepia Matsushima Aquarium, which existed as a tourist attraction in Japan’s three most scenic spots, opened on October 17, 2020. This is a two-story wooden commercial facility with a view of Matsushima Bay, which has been certified as the most beautiful bay club in the world, on a site of about 2470 square meters.
Inside the building, there are souvenir shops where you can buy souvenirs from Matsushima and the Tohoku region, restaurants where you can taste Matsushima’s food, and workshops where you can experience painting Kokeshi dolls. In addition, various plants such as maples, Yoshino cherry trees, and camellias are planted in the garden of the facility, so you can take a leisurely stroll while feeling the four seasons and the changing seasons.
In 2020, an illumination event will be held for the first time with 160,000 LED bulbs on 96 maples in the garden as a tie-up project with the SENDAI Pageant of Starlight held on Jozenji-dori in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.
There is no Starlight Wink that is carried out on the SENDAI Pageant of Starlight, but Matsushima Rikyu’s original special lighting that changes to 7 colors of colorful light for 1 minute per hour will be carried out.
