The Namahage sedo Festival is held at Shinzan Shrine in Oga City, Akita Prefecture every second week of February.This is a sightseeing event that combines the Shinto ritual Sedo Matsuri held at Shinzan Shrine on January 3 with the traditional folk event Oga no Namahage.
The festival begins with Namahage nyukon, where young people dressed as Namahage give a Namahage mask at the stone steps at the entrance to the approach and return to the mountains.
The Namahage Sedo Festival is considered to be one of the Michinoku Five Great Snow Festivals.

In recent years, not only domestic tourists but also foreigners have come to Japan to enjoy the festival.
The Visit God including the Oga Namahage event was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in November 2018.

A new local performing art that combines Namahage and Japanese drums, a brave taiko performance will be performed at the Kagura Hall on the premise of Shinzan Shrine.
