Goishi Beach on the Suezaki Peninsula, Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture Tohoku Japan is a beach that has been selected as one of Japan’s famous scenic spots and natural monuments, as well as one of Japan’s 100 Best Beaches.
It is known as a tourist attraction on the Sanriku Coast, including the tourist areas around it.
This beach is not a sandy beach, but rather a stone shaped like a go stone spreads along the coast. The rushing waves hit the stones, creating a beautiful tone.
In addition, the scenery of Ranboya valley where the waves collide violently with the steep rock walls of several tens of meters and make a wild and lively sound.
There is Goishi Misaki, where there is a Goishizaki Lighthouse that delivers light up to 32 km offshore to protect the safety of the sea.
There are plenty of attractions, such as Kaminari Iwa, where the waves hitting the cave compress the air and sound like thunder, and Kinchakuiwa, which give off a striking appearance in the rough landscape.
This area is known as a scenic spot where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Rias coast on the Pacific ocean side of the Tohoku region.
