This is the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner from All Nippon Airways that made the world’s first commercial flight in 2011. About two years later, in June 2013, ANA’s B787 made its first service as the first scheduled flight to Akita Airport in the Tohoku region.
In the past, all Boeing 787 aircraft had been suspended due to a fire from a battery and a smoke accident. However, in response to the proved safety of the aircraft, the flight was resumed from June 1, 2013.
JA801A and JA802A are special painting aircraft commonly called mackerel paint. From JA803A onwards, the aircraft has a large 787 logo in ANA’s corporate color, Triton Blue.
By using a composite material such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the Boeing 787’s body at a weight ratio of about 50%, the weight of the aircraft has been significantly reduced and fuel consumption has been improved.
In addition, the metal usage rate has decreased, and corrosion resistance has also improved, eliminating the need to extremely dry the inside of the aircraft, which has significantly improved passenger comfort.
